Oh, romances often start out so well. You kiss and cuddle your way through the infatuation phase before shagging yourselves silly until the honeymoon period comes to a halt.
But what happens next? Well according to a recent study by the National Sleep Foundation, not much. The organisation tells us that 25 percent of Americans in long-term relationships are so sleep-deprived they would rather snooze than schmooze. As our lives get busier by the day, the first things to get squeezed out tend to be sex and sleep. And when you’re tired, your energy levels will be at their lowest so it’s no surprise that across the Atlantic from our sleeping American friends, three quarters of Brits are giving sex a miss and blaming laziness.
UK’s Nuffield healthcare chain surveyed 2,000 people and found that more than half blamed their lacklustre sex lives on a lack of fitness. So if you’re wondering how you can put the spark back into your relationship, it seems there are two basic building blocks: sleep and exercise.
