Brooke's initiation to the dating scene was a disastrous speed-dating event in 2005. Despite a less than impressive first impression, Brooke went on to become a speed-dating host, a role that provided much fodder for her writing pursuits. For two years she put together a dating feature for the Sydney Morning Herald and hosted an online series for Fairfax Digital Productions called Sexperts. Brooke has been published in various sections of the Sydney Morning Herald, Women's Health Magazine and Marie Claire USA. Brooke is currently the dating 'expert' at Yahoo!7 as well as the host and creator of That's Why You're Single.
